About

Officehouronline.com (OHO for short) is a platform that brings teachers (university/college-level teachers and continuing education instructors) and students (university/college-level undergraduate and graduate students and working professionals) together at one place.

The courses offered on OHO are online video lecture-based courses. Each course is divided into topics, and each topic is addressed in the form of a number of questions and answers. Each video also accompanies a pdf file of the slides. In addition, there are various types of assignments to go with the courses that are used either for assessment purposes by the instructors or to simply verify their comprehension by students.

The university/college-level video courses are semester-long courses. The students can, however, purchase individual videos, individual topics or the entire course. Discounts are offered on purchases of topics and courses. An instructor of a course may use an OHO course as a video "textbook" for the class. Further discounts are offered on purchases of OHO courses/topics for the entire class (of more than 5 students).

The video courses are generally used by:

  • University/college-level students who are looking for supplemental materials to improve their grades or to use in study groups,

  • University/college-level instructors to use as the video "textbook" in a class and/or use as alternate study materials in their absence in lieu of their lectures.

The continuing education courses offered on OHO are of two types:

  • OHO-administered continuing education courses: These courses are created by specific instructors, but auto-managed by OHO, and are available for any one to take on a continuing basis at any time. The students will earn a certain number of PDHs (Professional Development Hours) and a certificate of completion.

  • Instructor-administered continuing education courses: These courses are created and managed by specific instructors, and are offered time-to-time at specific times (usually two to three-day long, as a traditional continuing education course). The students will earn a certain number of PDHs (Professional Development Hours) and a certificate of completion.

The continuing education courses are generally taken by working professionals for fulfilling licensing agency or employer requirements. However, the courses may be taken by anyone looking to enhance his/her knowledge in a certain area.
